Born and raised in Liverpool Tom Brown has been working in film and TV art departments since 1981.

​

He began his career as an art department assistant working for legendary designers  Peter Lamont, Assheton Gorton and Eliott Scott on 'Octopussy', 'Legend', 'Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom'  'Labyrinth' and 'Willow'.

​

Working his way through the grades learning his craft as draughtsman, assistant art director on  films 'Nightbreed' 'Without a Clue' 'Slipstream' and 'Hawks',he was then given the opportunity to art direct features including 'The Big Man' 'In The Name Of The Father' 'Saving Private Ryan' to name a few and TV dramas "Inspector Morse' 'A Christmas Carol' 'Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' and 'Prime Suspect'.

 

Tom has designed  over eighteen productions to date amongst those are  'Guesthouse Paradiso', 'The Parole Officer' 'Kevin and Perry Go Large' 'I Want Candy' 'Pie In The Sky' 

Jimmy McGovern's 'Hillsborough','Apparitions','Strange',

'Class of '76' 'Whitechapel' 'Line Of Duty'.

He has just completed designing the new Vin Diesel action film 'Bloodshot' having recently designed 'Luther' for BBC One. Before that he designed the Netflix production in Cambodia working for Director Angelina Jolie on 'First They Killed My Father'.

 

He has also supervised on films such as the 2018 'Tomb Raider'  'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy' 'A Good Day To Die Hard' 

'Expendables 3', 'SPY' and 'By The Sea'

He has worked all across the world from Los Angeles to Bulgaria and from Russia to Australia.

 

Having noticed a skill shortage within art departments he decided to offer relevant tuition in set drawing and art direction whilst continuing within the industry.

 

Tom posesses an immense love & knowledge of film in general and finds reward in sharing his accumulated knowledge of all aspects of the art department.

 

Tom is a member of BAFTA and lives in Yorkshire with his wife and twin boys.
